I typed “missionary” into image models for months before I admitted it was doing nothing. A floating leg. One guy hovering above the mattress like a ghost. The name is not the position. The geometry is.
Names mean nothing, geometry means everything
Explicit training captions are garbage. Somebody typed one word and moved on, so the model learned a vibe, not a body plan. Spell out four things every time and the hit rate jumps.
- Who is above, who is below, or whether both are upright.
- Which way each person faces. Toward each other, or away.
- Where the weight sits. Knees, forearms, a hand on the headboard.
- Camera position. The same pose from the side and from the foot of the bed are two different pictures.
Common fail
Stacking three position words in one prompt because you can’t decide. You get a limb salad with a spare arm.
Fix: one position per image, described like you’re directing two actors who can’t see each other.

Twelve positions, copy and go
Adults only. Bolt on your own faces, room and lighting.
Missionary
It drifts them apart or forgets who is on top. Nail the contact and the forearms.

Cowgirl
She ends up sitting beside him instead of on him. Say straddling. Say facing him.

The most reversed prompt in porn AI. Models spin her around unless you block it twice.

Doggy style
You get her on all fours, alone in frame. Put him in the same sentence, kneeling.

Prone bone
Flat on the stomach on its own just reads as lying down. His weight on top of her is what turns it into a position.

Spooning
Comes out as a cuddle. Fix: both facing the same direction, plus her lifted leg.

Standing from behind
Gravity dies here. Give them something to hold. Counter, dresser, doorframe.

Against the wall
The wall vanishes and she floats. Name it as contact, not background.

Lotus
Almost never learned by name. Describe it. Both seated, chest to chest, legs folded.

Bent over a desk
The desk floats away from the bodies. Anchor her torso to it.

Legs on shoulders
You get folded limbs and broken knees. Say both ankles, say his shoulders.

Full nelson
Hard mode. The arms are the whole point and models lose them instantly.

Twelve blocks, and then the hard part
Twelve is a starter kit, not a library. But every block on this page has one thing in common: two bodies. Add a third and describing geometry stops being the better habit and becomes the only thing holding the render together, because now the model has to count as well as place. That is a different problem with its own rules.
Stop naming the position. Describe the bodies, and the model stops guessing.
