My first month of anime generations looked like a 2022 mobile game. Same model everyone was hyping, same settings, and my prompts were gorgeous English. “A beautiful anime woman with silver hair sitting on a bed, soft window light.” Read like a novel. Rendered like mud.
Then someone dropped their prompt in front of me. No sentences. Commas, underscores, and a weird block of numbers up front. I ran it and got cleaner lines, better anatomy, actual style. Whole lesson right there. Hentai AI prompts and photoreal prompts are different dialects, and most people speak the wrong one at the wrong model.
Anime models were raised on tags, not prose
Photoreal checkpoints learn from captions written like human sentences, so prose works there. Anime and hentai models learn from booru image boards, where every picture is hand labeled with short comma separated tags, spaces inside a tag becoming underscores. The model never saw “a woman sitting on a bed.” It saw “1girl, solo, sitting, on_bed.” Feed it flowery prose and it guesses which fragments map to tags it knows, then hands you the average. Mud.
The grammar is rigid and boring. Good news, because you can memorize it in a night.
- Count first: 1girl, 1boy, 2girls, solo, plus solo_focus when someone else is in frame.
- Then the body: mature_female, long_hair, silver_hair, blue_eyes, large_breasts, thighhighs, choker.
- Then action and expression: straddling, arched_back, blush, half-closed_eyes, open_mouth, sweat.
- Then framing: looking_at_viewer, from_above, from_side, cowboy_shot, close-up.
- Then the scene: bedroom, indoors, night, dim_lighting, backlighting.
- Quality and style anchors go at the front, never scattered through the middle.
Tag order is weight order here. Whatever sits early gets obeyed. Bury “1girl” at position forty and don’t act shocked when three of her show up. For the full vocabulary, the NSFW prompt dictionary is the tab I keep open while I work.
The score block everyone forgets
Biggest gap between people posting sharp anime output and people insisting their model is broken. The Pony family and almost every modern hentai merge were trained with aesthetic score buckets baked into the captions. Never call the high buckets and you are sampling the entire training set, ugly half included.
So you open with this every time: score_9, score_8_up, score_7_up. Three tags. Skip them and your work looks years old, and no pile of “masterpiece, best quality, ultra detailed” saves it, because those were the magic words two model generations ago.
Example prompt
“score_9, score_8_up, score_7_up, source_anime, 1girl, solo, mature_female, long_hair, silver_hair, blue_eyes, large_breasts, nude, sitting, on_bed, spread_legs, blush, sweat, looking_at_viewer, bedroom, night, dim_lighting, detailed_background”
Common fail
Mixing the dialects. Half prose, half tags: “a stunning hentai girl, 1girl, she is lying on the bed while looking at the viewer, blush.” The model splits its attention and you get something soft, generic and slightly cross-eyed.
Fix: commit all the way. Every idea becomes a tag. “1girl, solo, lying, on_back, on_bed, looking_at_viewer, blush.” No “she is,” no loose adjectives, no verbs dragging subjects around.
Example prompt
“score_9, score_8_up, score_7_up, 2girls, yuri, nude, kissing, hug, small_breasts, large_breasts, on_bed, blush, half-closed_eyes, sweat, indoors, window, evening, soft_lighting, from_side, detailed_background”
Your photoreal negative block is poisoning it
Here is where I burned the most hours. I had a negative prompt I loved for realistic work, stuffed with “cartoon, anime, illustration, drawing, painting, cgi.” Pasted it straight into my anime workflow like an idiot. Telling the model not to be the thing I wanted.
For anime you flip it. Negate realism, not stylization, and kill censorship artifacts, because booru data is full of them and the model will happily add a mosaic nobody asked for.
Common fail
Reusing photoreal negatives on anime, then blaming the checkpoint when faces come out plastic and half your output arrives pixelated.
Fix: a dedicated anime negative. Mine is “score_6, score_5, score_4, realistic, photorealistic, 3d, photo, censored, mosaic_censoring, bar_censor, convenient_censoring, extra_digits, bad_hands, watermark, signature, text, jpeg_artifacts.” Nothing about cartoons. Nothing about skin pores or DSLRs.
Locking one style across a whole set
One good image is luck. A consistent set is craft. Three things do it: a single style anchor near the front, the identical score block every time, and a fixed seed while you change only the action tags. One variable at a time or you never learn what helped.
Example prompt
“score_9, score_8_up, score_7_up, source_anime, 1girl, solo, mature_female, twintails, pink_hair, green_eyes, office_lady, unbuttoned_shirt, pencil_skirt, thighhighs, panties_aside, standing, against_wall, looking_at_viewer, blush, sweat, office, night, city_lights, cowboy_shot”
Rather skip the model wrangling? Promptchan eats tag strings like these directly, and my picks for the rest of the anime tools live in hentai AI done right.
Stop typing tags from memory
Two shortcuts I use daily. First, the free MadePrompt generator. Pick hentai and it writes proper booru tags with the score block already in front and the anime negative already loaded, so the two things people forget are already handled. Free, no login, instant. Second, the Prompt Center, where the hentai filter pulls working tag strings from thousands of community prompts. Steal one, swap five tags, run it. That is how the dialect sticks.
Anime models do not read your sentences. Feed them tags in the right order and the mobile game look dies.
